Vera Woolsey Obituary

Vera Vernita Woolsey, 95, passed away on January 9, 2021 at Jerseyville Manor. She was born to Omer & Nellie (Sullivan) Sloan in Carrollton. She married Joseph Woolsey on May 10, 1946 in Jerseyville. She was a homemaker, member of First Baptist Church in Jerseyville, VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Jerseyville, and Royal Neighbors of America. She is survived by her daughter: Rita Craft; her granddaughter: Dwan Norris (husband: Bradley Peters); her great-grandchildren: Kirsten Marie Yotter (companion: Shane Reese), Kira Nicole Robeen, and Keagan Matthew- Joseph Robeen; one great-great grandchild on the way; and her sisters: Vonita (Bob) Green and Lorene Flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister: Margaret (Norman) Wyatt, Betty (Vorhis) Allen, and Carmen (Warren) Madson, brothers: James Sloan and Omer Sloan, Jr. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Home. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:00 am at Alexander Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
