Marjorie R. Beiser

Marjorie Rose Beiser, 98, of Jerseyville passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, in Jerseyville after enjoying a long and remarkably healthy life. She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Delhi, IL, the 11th of 12 children born to Fred and Lillie (Ross) Breitweiser. Margie was part of a large, tight knit farm family that valued hard work and spending time together. She married Albert “Vic” Beiser in 1952, and they were blessed with one daughter, Becky, who was the center of her mother’s universe until her death in June. Margie was a member of Peace United Church of Christ and a proud gold star member of the American Legion. Known for her sharp dress and warm personality, Margie enjoyed few things more than visiting with family and friends. Margie is survived by one brother, Herbert Breitweiser of Jerseyville, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and daughter and 10 brothers and sisters: Frank Breitweiser, Faye Chappell, Dixon Breitweiser, Ed Breitweiser, Vida Breitweiser, John Breitweiser, Mary Miller, Fred Breitweiser, Emma Antrae, and Pete Breitweiser. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec 29, at Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville. Services will immediately follow with Revs. Deborah Lawson and Kenny Schafer officiating. Committal services will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials may be made to the Peace United Church of Christ in Jerseyville.
