Luella C. Blackorby, 94, passed away on July 27, 2020 at her home. She was born on August 15, 1925 to Elmer & Velta (Jaynes) Carstens in Woodriver. She married Herman H. Blackorby, Jr. on August 26, 1946. She was a bookkeeper for and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Jerseyville. Luella is survived by her children: Richard (Connie) Blackorby and Ronald (Vicky) Blackorby; her grandchildren: Leigh Blackorby, Mindy Blackorby, Shannon Blackorby; her great-grandchildren: Jacob Egelhoff, Taylor Egelhoff, Julia Woolsey, Shelby Arthur, Sam Ward, and Beatrice Krueger; great-great- grandchildren: Morrison and Arlo Woolsey; and her sister: Mary Helen Heitzig; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchild: Jamie Blackorby, and brother: Elmer Carstens, Jr. A private family graveside was held with Rev. Bob Taylor and Rev. Dennis Hill officiating.
