Faye Parsell Obituary

Faye L. Parsell, 101, passed away on November 8, 2021 at Jerseyville Estates. She was born on October 12, 1920 to Frank & Ollie (Hammons) Eitel in Green Castle, MO. She married Harold Parsell on October 29, 1943 in Amarillo, Texas. They were married for 51 years until his death on October 19, 1993. Faye was a bookkeeper for Parsell Truck Equipment for 33 years until her retirement in 2009 and retired from the farm and the cattle breeding industry. She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Jerseyville where she had served as a trustee, Sunday school teacher, deacon, President of the Women’s Association, and other committees. She was also a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, a 4-H leader, a member of the Jersey County Homemakers Association for over 50 years, and Tri-County Antique Auxiliary. Faye and Harold were in the Registered Cattle Association. After Harold’s retirement, Faye and Harold enjoyed traveling together. Faye is survived by her children: Sharon (Glen) Davis of Edneyville, NC and Larry Parsell of Jerseyville; her grandchildren: Dana Bierer, Cheryl Kiurski, and Steve Davis; her great-grandchildren: Ethan Bierer, Elise Bierer, and Steve Casinelli; and her several nieces and nephews; and her several great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her 3 sisters: Veneta Barns, Betty Swords, and Leora Case, and her 3 brothers: Reuben, Nile, and Kenneth Eithel. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 9:00 am -11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church in Jerseyville. Funeral will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church. Pastor Jeff Ott will be officiating the service and burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian of Jerseyville or the American Cancer Society.
