Edna Whitley Obituary

Edna Whitley, 94, passed away on January 30, 2022 at her home. She was born on June 5, 1927 in Alton to William August & Lucille Pearl (Calame) Schaaf. She married Louis Homer Whitley on September 2, 1950. She was a member of Eastland Baptist Church. She was an avid eagle watcher, the Fiesta Lady, loved to shop for antiques, and adored spending time with her big beautiful family. She is survived by her children: Helen Marie Sexton, Gary Louis (Linda)Whitley, Ina Pearl (Rick) Clendenny, Paul Edward (Kathy) Whitley, Jane Elizabeth (Terry) Piper, William Raymond (Gail) Whitley, Dorothy Eileen (Jeff) Booth, and Rebecca Louise (Chuck) McBride; her too numerous to mention grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and her siblings: Evelyn Randolph and Bill Schaaf. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son: Ronald Lee Whitley, her granddaughter: April Jones, son-in-law: Jim Sexton and siblings: Edith Young, Phyllis Gansz, and Ruth Ann Pike. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am at Alexander Funeral Home. Funeral will take place on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10:00 am at Alexander Funeral Home. Pastor John Gibson will be officiating the service and burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastland Baptist Church.
