Doris Elizabeth (Koenig) Hall

Doris Elizabeth (Koenig) Hall, 88, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, following a massive stroke on January 23, 2020.

She was born October 30, 1931, in Michael, Calhoun County, IL, to Charles A. and Alma (Roentz) Koenig.  On October 7, 1950, Doris married Arnold Lee Hall at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Alton, IL.  From 1950 until she became an expectant mother, Doris worked at the Granite City Army Depot as a filing clerk; thereafter she worked as a mother, homemaker, and farmer.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by a son, Jerome E. Hall; grandson, Thomas Hall; sister, Mary Eugenia (Henry) Heath; brother, Charles J. Koenig; father-in-law, Arthur F. Hall; mother-in-law, Lorene (Cox) Denfip; her husband’s step-father, Herman Denfip; and her husband’s siblings, Yvonne Moxey, Nina Pizzo Hobart, Wade Hall, and Brian Hall.

Doris is survived by 7 children, Sr. Elizabeth Ann Hall, O.S.F., Carol (Steve) Skasick, Kevin (Shirley) Hall, Angela (Darryl) Logsdon, Timothy (Mandy) Hall, Mark (Stacy) Hall, and Keith Hall [Gina Stewart]; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Debra (Ellis) Hall; Godchild, John Goeken; siblings, William Ed Koenig, Edna Melcher, and Ervin (Colleen) Koenig; sisters-in-law, Beulah Koenig and Marjorie Koenig; as well as her husband’s siblings and brother-in-law, Valada Henson, Duane (Pam) Hall, Lee (Eve) Hall, and Joe (Betty) Moxey.

Visitation will be from Noon to 4 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at Alexander & Gubser Funeral Home in Jerseyville, IL, with recitation of the Rosary at 4 PM.  Rev. D. Patrick Gibbons will officiate at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Jerseyville, IL, at 10 AM on Monday, February 3, 2020.  Doris will be laid to rest in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Jerseyville, next to her husband of 61 years.
