Delbert Allen Obituary

Delbert Allen, 87, passed away on December 9, 2020 at his home. He was born on May 14, 1933 to Jesse & Stella (King) Allen in Jersey County. He married Sharon Gisy on January 1, 1956 in Jerseyville, IL. Delbert was a US Army Korean War veteran and was a member of the VFW. He was a retired truck driver for Peavey and Conagra Flour Mill in Alton. He is survived by his daughter: Karen (Rick) Meyer of Dow; his grandchildren: Dustin (Brandi) Honchell of Dow and Traci Cooper of East Alton; his several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; and his sister: Helen Meuth. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Greg Allen, grandchildren: Nathan Pfeiffer, Trisha Cooper, Tara Cooper, and siblings: Wes, Hubert, Lloyd, Floyd, Deedee, Charles, Lester, Mary, David, and John. A private funeral service will be held with a public graveside service at 11:45 on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Upper Alton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
