Alice Chamness Obituary

Alice Ida Chamness, 87, passed away on July 6, 2020 at her home. We know Mom is at peace and is making beautiful quilts and dancing with Linda in heaven.She was born on November 3, 1932 in Okawville, IL. to Waldo & Lena (Juenger) McRae. She married David Chamness in 1967 in Alton, he sadly passed in 2014. She was a homemaker and was a member of Jerseyville First United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children: Kathy (Terry) Stromske of Grafton and Michael Holladay of Washington; her grandchildren: Barry Ingersoll of Livingston, IL., Michael (Jessica) Stromske of Grafton, and Beth (Nick) Hausman of Alabama; her great-grandchildren: Magan Stromske, Camille and Emmitt Hausman, Ashely Varble, Stephanie Hill, and Courtney Taylor; and 5 great-great grandchildren; her brother: David (Sharon) Duguid of Roxana. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Linda Gresham, granddaughter: Aria Ann Stromske, her siblings: Lorraine (Sam) Shetley, Waldo (Ellen) McRae, Dale (Lois) McRae, Jerry (Henrietta) McRae. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 10:00 am at Jerseyville First United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Bob Taylor and Rev. Dennis Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jerseyville First United Methodist Church.
